Not on Sale – Murphy Wines
On Monday, August 29, 2011 we posted our picks of the week and recommended some Murphy Vineyards wines that were on sale for $48 a case. Well, apparently, I was sent the wrong information and received prices that were met for resellers. I apologize for the inconvenience and I have delete the post and cannot recommend the wines at the correct prices. Continue reading →

BevMo and their “Vineyard Partners” – How it Works?
Is this Vineyard Partner arrangement that BevMo has a good deal for the consumer? That’s what I have been trying to figure as I walk through my local BevMo store and see displays of wines designated with the Vineyard Partner logo. Continue reading →

Toro wine tops our Picks of the Week – August 22, 2011
his is one of those Vineyard Partner deals and I would probably have passed on it except that I had a glass of this sparkling wine that someone offered to me at a picnic. This is a very dry sparkling wine that I think is a perfect aperitif. I like the solid mouth feel to this sparkling wine and I think it compares well to $20 sparklers. Continue reading →

Ste. Michelle Cabernet Sauvignon for a Bargain Pick, but not as a Cab – August 8
I would never choose this wine to pair with a juicy rib eye steak. However, I think this wine is a great everyday or party wine and very tasty, especially at $9.99 at Trader Joe’s. It is also at K&L Wines and at The Wine Stop in Burlingame for $10.99. Continue reading →

Bargain Wine Picks of the Week – August 1, 2011
One of my favorite conferences sessions was the “Live Blogging” or “Speed Dating” sessions, one for white and Rosé wines and one for reds. In these sessions the winemaker or winery rep came to our table of ten wine bloggers and had five minutes to talk about their wine. Each blogger received a couple of ounces of wine and it was our job to judge the wine and blog or tweet about the wine on the spot. We tasted wines in the price range of $8 to $75. Continue reading →
