C. Donatiello Chardonnay and Pinot Noir – Top Bargain Picks of the Week
This is fun wine, very dry, with the refreshing taste of apple and some yeast. I think the fun part about this wine is the fact that the wine is made in New Mexico. It stands up to my favorite sparklers made in California. It makes for a good conversation piece when your guest tells you it is delicious and then asks where it is from. Continue reading
Bargain Wine Alert – #11
I was pleasantly surprised, when I went shopping on Thursday at the Millbrae Safeway, to discover the Domain Chandon sparkling wines is on sale. As far as I know, the Domain Chandon wines were not listed in any of their print advertisements. I purchased six bottles to get the discount and the bottle price came to $10.60. Continue reading

Chiroulet Cote D’Heux White Wine – 100% Gros Manseng – huh?
This wine comes from the Chiroulet Winery, which is located in a commune by the name of Condom located in southwestern France. It is made from 100% of the Gros Manseng grape, the main white grape of this area. The wine was fermented and aged in wood and thus has a gentle oak aroma and a very nice feel in the mouth. The characteristics of this wine are far different from any white wines we have tasted. Give it a try; we think you will enjoy this wine. If you drink this wine by itself you may not enjoy it as much, because it really is a food wine and matches perfectly with seafood and poultry. Continue reading
