Ponzi Pinot Noir Rosé is the top bargain wine pick of the week – July 16

Discovering the Wines of Castilla-La Mancha
The Airén grape is the most widely planted grape in Spain. It has been used mainly in bulk wines, but the wineries in Castilla-La Mancha are giving it a lot of tender and loving care. We also enjoyed several Viognier wines. Yes, they grow this grape in Castilla-La Mancha and it is very good. We also like the Chardonnay wines we tried, especially the unoaked variety. This Doletto is light and flavorful with a dark, red fruit characteristic, especially plum, and has a touch of spice. The wine is gentle but flavorful and very enticing. The finish on this wine is very nice. It goes down easily and gives back many nuances. Continue reading
