Safeway Wine Sale
Safeway has an ad in today’s Sunday San Francisco Chronicle for several wines on sale. The best deal in my estimation is the one for Domaine Chandon for $11.70 a bottle if you buy six and have your Safeway Card. These selected varietals include the entry levels of Domaine Chandon Brut, Rosé, and Riche (my favorite). The other really good deal is the Roederer Estate Brut for $16.20, also if you buy six and have your Safeway Card. This is a great buy for this sparkling wine from the Anderson Valley in Mendocino. Sale is from today, Feb 6 to Tuesday, Feb 15th. Stock up for Valentine’s Day!

Trader Joe’s – Ruston S.B. and Trentatre
According to reports, there are some of the Ruston Sauvignon Blanc left at a few of the stores. The Trader Joe’s in Stonestown in San Francisco had plenty as of Friday according to one reader. Call your local store to see if this wine is in stock before you make a trip. Also on the shelves at most stores is the 2008 Trentatre Rosso – $5.99, recommended by the Wellesley Wine Press by Robert Dwyer and by Jim, one of our Vintage Wine Tasting Club members.
