This past week some 65 wine judges evaluated 5500 wines at this annual competition. This is by far and away the biggest wine competition around, and you can get some great leads by browsing the list of medal winners. Bargain wine picks for the first week of 2012
At the Redwood City K&L Wines, the Deligeroy is a “Staff Pick.” I never really know if this is just a marketing ploy or if the staff really loves the wine. This wine is remarkable at this great price and I consider this wine to be a gem of a discovery. Robert Parker rates this wine at 90 Pts.; I will go with an 88-Pt. rating. Now of course, Cost Plus WM is not about to lose money on this wine sale. That is why you need to plan ahead and perhaps bring your pen or smart phone to snap photos of the wine, and then do some research on Wine-Searcher.com for comparing wine prices. This might require two visits but that is what it takes to find wine bargains.

That brings the price down to $4.48. I did a search on Wine-Searcher to compare the price of this wine at other wine shops. The prices ranged from $7.93 to $14.34.
