It is wine coupon time at Costco! This coupon sale will last from now until July 3, 2011. This is just in time for you to stock up for your big 4th of July bash. I ran through my local Costco the other day eyeballing the coupon specials and I think these four are the best bets.
Almos Malbec 2010
Normal price is $7.99, with coupon $6.39. This is a very nice tasting Malbec from Argentina, good flavors and a nice food friendly wine. This is a wine that your guests will certainly enjoy.
Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc 2010. Normal price is $12.99, with coupon $10.74.
This is a terrific value and a wine that year after year is a favorite for those that like the New Zealand style of Sauvignon Blanc. Do a search using wine-searcher.com and see what this wine is selling for elsewhere. You will be surprised.
Beaulieu Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet 2008
Normal price at Costco is $13.99 with coupon $10.99. I have not tried this wine as yet but rumor has it that the 2008 vintage for Napa is much better than expected. This wine has been recently released, so I don’t know if any of the “big boys” have done their ratings on this wine. The suggested retail price on this wine is $20. How is that for a discount!
Beringer Napa Valley Cabernet 2006
Normal price is $23.99, with coupon $18.99. The Wine Advocate gives this wine 86 points.
In other news, Mike B says that the Grocery Outlet in Redwood City received another allotment of the Evergreen Pinot Gris. This is very good stuff at $6 a bottle. You can read the review in our previous post on the Evergreen Pinot Gris from Oregon.

I just picked up a bottle of the Beringer Cab, Costco had 2008 not 06′ as you mentioned above. Used the coupon. Once I got it home, I noticed its a very generic label, just Napa Valley. I mean what is this?, Founder’s Estate?, Knights Valley?. The difference can be huge in terms of price and, I imagine, in taste. I looked on Beringer site and can’t find what I just picked up. Weird.
Yes, it is somewhat weird. Let us know how the wine tastes.
Question please? Where do you get Costco Wine Coupons? I live in the Dallas area and haven’t seen any wine coupons. Thanks!
In the S.F. Bay Area Costco has a coupon campaign for wine and spirits 3 or 4 times a year. It is usually centered around a big holiday. Keep reading this blog and I will alert readers to when Costco does this again. I am not sure if this occurs in the Dallas area.
Thanks, Joe
