good places to know about in L.A. area?

Here are two off the top of my head:
1) l.a. wines: a warehouse type place where all the wines are on sale, near Marina del Rey. I think lawines.com is the address.
2) Tantalum Restaurant in Long Beach is a favorite of mine. I know it's kind of far away, but on Tuesday evenings ALL the wines on their menu are half price.
