Thanks, Bruce. Checked out the Millbrae BevMo (much smaller store) and they're out of both. Oh well, another missed ooportunity.
BevMo 5¢ sale: 2003 Les Mines Priorat - 24.99 + 5¢ for two. One of the best reds at this price point or any other. Made from mixture of Grenache and Carignane grapes, this Spanish red has all the elements of a great wine.
HOLY COW...I Thought I was seeing things and got gyped at Joes when i seen $ 2.99....Then I saw the retraction at 4.99.....I bought this for 5.99 at my Joes..and it was a great bargain I am going back for more

Trenta Tre ("33") is an italian blend of Cab, Merlot, and Montepulciano (1/3 each - hence, the name) that TJ is selling for $5.99 a bottle. Good color, softness on palate, and balanced taste for an every day wine.
At Safeway for 9.99 a bottle. Pleasant red with great balance. This is a wine for people who have never had a positive "red" experience. three and a half points.
Finally opened a bottle last night. This was definitely a deal. Drinkable now but w/enough tannins to put away for a while. Smooth nevertheless and with great after-taste.
At $3.99/btl, this Argentinian white is a good everyday wine deal. Not too sweet with a hint of oak, it's much like a Sauvignon Blanc in character.
