In general I would have to say that the Redwood City Grocery Outlet has the largest selection and stock of any of the No. CA stores, this includes, Berkeley, Petaluma, S.F., Rohnert Park and Santa Rosa!
Hey Richard - it appears Citrus Heights didn't order them - but the West Sac store at 845 Harbor should have both the Monfil and Cummo, unless they are already sold out. That happens a lot. I do have more Le Corbinie Chianti , Rosso, and Vinabel Tem…
I scored two new GO wines this week: Westerland pinotage '06 ($3.99) and Westerland cab sauv '06 ($2.99). Both are from South Africa, wine of origin - Darling, so I expected some decent regional character and was not dissapointed. Both are full bodi…
I have two new imports hitting the G.O. stores in about a week or so. Look for them in Washington and Oregon stores first, maybe Nevada, Arizona, and Idaho as well, California to follow. The first is a beautiful Nero d'Avola from Sicily. Big fruit,…
Oceanside, Ca. Had a very nice 2006 Forest Glen Char. 7.99. Surprised me as most of their wine is mass produced and taste cheap. I guess they are making a higher end wine now. The suggested retail price was 20.00 dollars!
As I type, I am sampling the 2008 Senorio del Jucar Tempranillo (Vinabel) suggusted by Bob. I think it is a very nice and an easy to drink every day wine. I got it for $3.99 at my GO. I just bought the one bottle and I am planning on picking up a ca…
Tooting my own horn again - I have imported a nice Tempranillo from the Senorio del Jucar winery situated between Albacete and Valencia about 30 miles from the coast in Spain. I know that the Oregon Grocery Outlets will be (or already have) received…
It's been a while since I've found a wine I like at a great price. Well, the 2005 Lolonis Tryfon Zinfadel is that wine. GO (Petaluma) has it for $6.99 and the winery is selling the exact same vintage for $28.00! The winery website describe their win…
I uploaded a few pics from the Northwest G.O. tour - that felt a little like those trips that people take to see every minor league baseball park in the US :)
I visited the Corvallis, OR G.O. last week and decided to try the Washington Hills 2006 Merlot. I was pleasantly surprised for the $2.99. Too bad all of it was sold by yesterday.
Doug - I just made a tour of the G.O. stores in the Northwest (I think I hit 30 of them) and I only saw one store with the Nelson - it was in the Seattle area, and none had the French. I suspect Oregon and Washington either never got any, or ran out…
I'm still looking for the 2006 Domaine Alfred Red Wine for $2.99 or the 2000 Nelson Estate Merlot mentioned by David. Our GO stores in the Portland Oregon area don't have any as of last week. Has anyone seen these in Oregon stores yet?
I tried some of Bob's recommended "Le Corbine" Chianti 2007. Not sure if I like it or not. Maybe it needs to be put up for a few years. I taste a distinct black olive spice in this wine. Not what I'm used to, but it definitely is different.
David - I was in G.O. in Clovis, CA yesterday and saw the Nelson Estate Merlot at 2.99. My wife and I enjoyed it last night. Today I went back and bought two cases. This is a killer wine. !
