Mendoza red blend tops our wine picks of the week

This is a terrific deal for this wonderful blend from Mendoza in Argentina. It is 40% Malbec, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 30% Merlot. I found this wine to be loaded with plum and spice characteristics, and it leaves a beautiful texture in the mouth. It has a great finish and all this for a measly $12.99. Continue reading

Pinot Noir Wines top our bargain selections of the week – October 31

I chilled it for about 1 hour and then decanted it and let it set for about an hour. Pinot Noir wines taste better slightly chilled. It took a while even in the glass to open up but once it did it was very good. It has flavors of cherries and good texture in the mouth. The Wine Enthusiast gives it a 91 and a $23 price point. I like but not as much as the Calera I reviewed last week, but the price point is better at $12.99 vs $19.99. I give it an 88 point rating. Continue reading
